La Bodeguita del medio in puerto vallarta is a great place to have dinner cuban food and to do some salsa dancing. The shrimp tacos are the best. Empanadas are delicious. The mojitos are made to pefection. Live music goes from 9 pm to am. You don't have to know how to dance salsa. Some one is always ready to hel you out.
Abundant Cuban music and pretty good fare. The place has a total legitimate atmosphere. Bring a marker as you can sign the walls. Live music place, come dance salsa and merengue! La bodeguita is the best place to go if you want to hear some live salsa after 9pm and try the best mojitos in puerto Vallarta. The food is also pretty good and the location is excellent!
This was a treat and lots of fun, we walked by it on the walk downtown and never saw it. Bartenders were really good, mohita looked great. You really need to treat yourself to dinner here. The food is wonderful! We love salsa music so the fact that they have live bands playing both day and night was a plus. We went there two nights in a row.

About our rating system. This authentic Cuban restaurant and bar is known for its casual energy, terrific live Cuban music, and mojitos. It's a branch of the original Bodeguita in Havana reputedly Hemingway's favorite restaurant there , which opened in If you can't get to that one, the Vallarta version has successfully imported the essence—and has a small souvenir shop that sells Cuban cigars, rum, and other items. The food is not memorable, so I recommend coming just for drinks and dancing. A Cuban band plays salsa, cumbia, and other tropical rhythms nightly except Mon from 10pm to 2am. We asked for a drink menu and there apparently is none. We ordered 2 mojitos with appetizers and 4 arrived at the table with the explanation that it was 2 X 1 happy hour. They were just OK and decided to switch to Sol to have with our paella. Same thing, ordered 2 and 4 came to the table. With dessert, we ordered 1 Cuban coffee which turned out to be a shot glass full of strong coffee with sugar, and 2 came to the table with the same 2 X 1explanation. The waiters said they had made a mistake and it wasn't happy hour after all and the manager refused to make an adjustment beyond comping one of the coffees. The waiters made a scene when we got up to leave without tipping them.
