I have a 9 x 12 rug that is stained. For such a small rug, I don't want to bother with professional cleaning. I am considering renting a Rug Doctor. I did a web search for product reviews, and found that some people loved their rental Rug Doctor, but others complained that the machine they rented was dirty from previous users, or didn't work well, or didn't dry well. The Rug Doctor is available near me at some nearby supermarkets, Home Depot, and a smaller hardware store. Does the source of the rental matter?
Moonman2 to bananabanX. I would chime in agreement to what Moonman said. Made my light coloured carpeted rooms look shinier by taking away that worn down look. I use one every couple years. Crescent to dirtyjeffer0. One of those things like almost looks like a vaccum cleaner to shampoo the carpet.
Having kids, they are a mess. We probably clean our carpets every couple of months. I was totally wrong. They were so nice and just explained the process and what I needed to clean before returning it. The machines were right at the entrance by customer service. I was in and out in 5 minutes.
Heavy foot traffic can make carpets especially dirty.
