MY MISCARRIAGE STORY AT 6 WEEKS PREGNANT!!!get
Once you have confirmed that you are pregnant, you will want to find out when your baby is due to arrive. The average pregnancy is calculated at days 40 weeks from the first day of your last menstrual period. However babies rarely keep to an exact timetable, so a full-term pregnancy can be anywhere between 37 and 42 weeks. A baby born before 37 weeks is considered to be premature and anything past 42 weeks is considered overdue. For example, if your last period started on 1 March, adding seven days will make that 8 March.
Right now there is a lone egg and a whole bunch of anxious sperm eager to fertilize the egg. Your uterus and the entire body are preparing for a big day of ovulation - the stage when you'll get pregnant. Week 3 of pregnancy is the week when the implantation happens. Your body releases chorionic gonadotropin hCG , which causes an increased production of estrogen and progesterone, and prevents new eggs in the ovaries from ripening. Very soon you'll start experiencing the first symptoms of pregnancy: missed period, nausea, breast changes.

Conceiving naturally, or even with the help of fertility drugs, means you can use the due date calculator based on your LMP. The circumstances surrounding the retrieval and transfer methods will impact the due date calculation by days if not weeks when compared to using the LMP. Working out how many weeks pregnant you are can be a little confusing. Until your dating scan your pregnancy will be counted from the first day of your LMP last menstrual period , although ovulation will generally occur two weeks after your LMP, which is when you technically become pregnant. In simple terms, your due day is the first day of your last period, plus 40 weeks. Your first pregnancy scan happens between 10 weeks and 14 weeks pregnant. It's called the dating scan, and gives you a more accurate due date, based on the size and development of your baby. Most babies are born somewhere between 37 weeks and 41 weeks of pregnancy, and quite often a week either side of their due date.

Most pregnancies last around 40 weeks or 38 weeks from conception , so typically the best way to estimate your due date is to count 40 weeks, or days, from the first day of your last menstrual period LMP. Another way to do it is to subtract three months from the first day of your last period and add seven days. So if your last period started on April 11, you'd count back three months to January 11 and then add seven days, which means your due date would be January Calculating your due date based on the first day of your last period works well for women who have a relatively regular menstrual cycle.
