Praise is the act of expressing approval or admiration. Worship is reverent honor and homage paid to God. While most Christians think of praise and worship as interchangeable, there is tremendous power in praise. Are you feeling spiritually dry? Worship Jesus with all your heart and the Spirit of the living God will fill your innermost being to overflowing.

In our Sanctification Section, we have a very good article on being able to worship and praise the Lord. You can use it right in the middle of an actual deliverance when you are casting demons out of someone, and you can also use it right in the middle of any type of personal trial and tribulation that you may be going through on your end. Music has had a powerful impact on my life. From my toddler years to today , I have always had a certain style that I was into that has changed over the years. Praise and Worship is more than just a bunch of people singing a song together in a room with their hands in the air.

This Bible story begins the unjust arrest of Paul and Silas. Because they had cast a spirit of divination out of a girl, the local Philippian authorities beat them and then threw them into a jail cell. Besides the trauma of the severe beating, they were fastened in stocks which clamped their arms and legs in an immobile position, causing cramps and loss of circulation. The atmosphere there was depressing. According to the standards of that day, a prison was more like the resemblance of a dungeon.

It is easy to praise God when the sun is shining, our children are making good grades in school, and we have received a promotion at work. But when the storm clouds gather, the grades start to slip, and the pink slips are read, the last thing we feel like doing is praising God. Yet, this is the very time when we need to lift our voices to Him in praise. When we praise God, we proclaim our faith in Him. The psalmist writes, "As for me, I will always have hope.

We are so blessed in the United States to have Thanksgiving as a national observance to thank God and honor Him for all He has given us. As Christians, we are called to unleash the power of praise and thanksgiving every day of the year. What power? The power to defeat the devil and unlock victory! Remember when Paul and Silas were locked up in the bowels of a prison? Things looked pretty grim. The result?

It is the groundwork to win the spiritual battle. Praise is an act of body worship which expresses a variety of emotions with your body such as clapping, standing up, walking, marching, kneeling, lifting up hands, falling prostrate, sitting down, remaining silent, dancing, singing and playing an instrument skillfully. Psalm opens with "Give thanks to the Lord for He is good" , and each time the people responded as the psalmist declares the attributes of God, "His love endures forever" , God shows up. This passage is about war declared on Jehoshaphat the King of Judah by their enemies the Moabites, Ammonites and with some of the people of Meunites. King Jehoshaphat inquired of the Lord and this is what the Lord said through one of the prophets.

The Power Of Praise And Worship

The Bible says in Psalm that He actually lives and dwells in our praises. This is the mystery and the miracle of the breakthrough power and presence of God when we worship! The church I attended began to be filled with long-haired, barefoot hippies. It really was an authentic, powerful move of God, but I was very young, so most of the time I was bored and distracted. There was such an amazing sense of grace and unity among everyone. I saw people displaying a kind of personal, intimate relationship with God that I wanted and needed. A relationship that I knew was made possible only by the blood of Jesus.
